Motorola is finally stepping up with a proper flagship phone. The new Signature 27 hits the US with a $1,599 price tag for the 512GB model and pre-orders opening now.
Big Specs All Around
It runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip and packs a 6.8-inch tandem OLED screen that hits 12,000 nits peak brightness. The display uses two panels for better efficiency and longer life. A 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 90W wired charging and up to 50W wireless on Motorola’s charger.
Cameras include a 50MP main sensor with Sony Lytia L910 and LOFIC tech, a 50MP ultrawide, a 200MP 3x periscope telephoto, and a 50MP front camera. An extra EVS sensor helps capture fast action clearly. Bang & Olufsen tuned the speakers, and the phone carries IP68/IP69 ratings plus GrapheneOS support.
Gemini Features Come Along
This is the first big push of Google’s Gemini Intelligence features outside Pixel phones. The Signature 27 gets Create My Widget, Gboard Rambler for cleaner voice notes, Sign-to-Text for ASL translation, and task automation that works with apps like Uber.
Android 17 ships on day one with seven years of OS and security updates promised. Colors include Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive. Pre-order buyers get a free Moto Watch Ultra and a year of extended warranty.
The Tea
Motorola is betting big on premium hardware and AI extras to take on Samsung’s top models. At this price it needs more than specs to win buyers over, but the move shows the brand is serious about the high end again.
