We try hard to get things right, and when we don’t, we fix it.

How to report an error

Email [email protected] with the link to the story and what you think is wrong. A link to a source that shows the correct information helps a lot.

What we do

• Factual errors (wrong names, numbers, dates, or quotes) are corrected, and we add a note at the end of the story saying what changed and when.
• Small fixes like typos or awkward wording are corrected without a note.
• Serious errors that change what the story means get a correction note at the top of the story.
• If a story turns out to be wrong at its core, we’ll take it down and post a note explaining why.
